My name is Anthony Jackson, I'm from Chesterfield, Virginia and I am a videographer and cinematographer.
I began videography through writing! I would write poetry, music, narrative stories, and every crazy idea that popped into my head; then I was drawn to film creation through visualizing those words, phrases, and stories. I felt that I was being pulled into the worlds I was creating with every stroke of my pen or press of a key. I would never say this came naturally, I put in hours on hours to make the progress I’ve made and I still have so far to go. However, I’ve never been afraid to learn; through learning comes growth.
My goal when I create content is to be respectful of my subject or talent and create opportunities of proper representation of underrepresented groups, through an equitable, free of stereotypes and biases, portrayal of character. I want more than anything for future generations to see themselves in my films and resonate higher to become whatever they want to be.
